Since the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was unconstitutional and California's Proposition 8 (Prop 8) was unlawful, triumphant reactions have been resonating through the entertainment industry. Neil Patrick Harris, Ellen DeGeneres, and Lady Gaga are among the most joyous on Twitter.

"And Prop 8 was dismissed?!? Huzzah! Christmas comes six months early this year! (Less one day...)" - Neil Patrick Harris (Twitter)

Harris is understandably bursting with joy. The world has just shown a sign of progress, and his personal life will be positively affected by it. Will Barney Stinson get married around the same time as Neil Patrick Harris?

Harris, who plays Barney Stinson in the CBS hit comedy "How I Met Your Mother," announced on Twitter over a year ago that he and celebrity chef David Burtka has been engaged "for ages." It looks like the couple is a step closer to an "available date."

David and I did propose to each other, but over five years ago! We've been wearing engagement rings for ages, waiting for an available date.

"It's a supremely wonderful day for equality. Prop 8 is over, and so is DOMA. Congratulations everyone. And I mean everyone." - Ellen DeGeneres (Twitter) Ellen married Australian actress Portia de Rossi in 2008, as soon as California's high court ruled the Proposition 8 ban on gay marriage was unconstitutional. Lady Gaga is also celebrating the Supreme Court ruling against Prop 8 and DOMA.

We stand tall today.#DomaStruckDown So many fought for so long. Be proud, the prejudice are now the minority. pic.twitter.com/teni7GREDY — Lady Gaga (@ladygaga) June 26, 2013

Before the SC ruling was released, Lady Gaga tweeted: "Overturn The Defense Of Marriage Act (DOMA) today. It is unconstitutional. Or will the Supreme Court continue to discriminate against LGBTs."

#LoveisLove indeed, for the gay couples and the straight duos who are all going through the same complex maze of relationships, married or not.

Today's DOMA ruling is a historic step forward for #MarriageEquality. #LoveIsLove
