Hollywood veteran actor Donald Sutherland was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next to his son Kiefer Sutherland.

He joked that the star was better than a headstone at a cemetery as because he could come and visit. He said: "I could get a chair and sit here, or a bucket and a mop and clean it, and make sure that people don't step on it."

The 75-year-old actor’s career has already reached its five decade mark. This week, Sutherland's newest movie The Mechanic with Jason Statham and Ben Foster, will be released. The movie is a remake of a Charles Bronson film.

The Canadian actor is best known for his roles in Don't Look Now, JFK, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Ordinary People and Animal House.
