Donna Summer Dead at Age 63
Donna Summer, known as the Queen of Disco, died Thursday at the age of 63.
According to reports by TMZ, Donna Summer finally ended her battle with lung cancer which was supposed to be caused by inhaling toxic particles after the 9/11 tragedy in New York City. Donna Summer was in Florida when she died. Summer's family released an official statement regarding her demise. Here is the statement released by the family:
"Early this morning, surrounded by family, we lost Donna Summer Sudano, a woman of many gifts, the greatest being her faith," her family said in a statement.
"While we grieve her passing, we are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy. Words truly can't express how much we appreciate your prayers and love for our family at this sensitive time."
Some people believe that the singer was in the middle of finishing up her album before she lost with her battle against cancer. Donna Summer was known as the Queen of Disco due to her very popular hits during the 1970's which includes songs "Last Dance", "Hot Stuff", and "Bad Girls".
Donna Summer was known as the Queen of Disco and a five time Grammy Award winner who achieved three consecutive double albums that reached the number one spot on the U.S. Billboard chart. Her hits include "Last Dance", "Hot Stuff", "Bad Girls", and "I Love You Baby".
