"Dr. Strange" is expected to be released in 2016. According to a report by KpopStarz, the movie is reported to start production in the fall. The success of the movie may open the door for a whole new range of other characters and movies that Marvel can explore.

So far Marvel has explored characters like "Captain America" "The Fantastic Four" and "Spider-Man" the movies deal will regular people getting superhuman abilities through some form of scientific experiments. There is no magic involved. "Dr. Strange" is different in this aspect.

The story of "Dr. Strange" from the comic book world is that of a greedy and selfish surgeon. He is a successful professional with a bloated ego. But a car accident changes all that. He will no longer be able to practice his profession and his ego does not allow him to take up a position of an assistant or that of a teacher.

Incapable of adjusting to his new life "Dr. Strange" travels to Tibet in search of a sorcerer known as the Ancient One. Instead of gaining the ability to become a surgeon again he becomes the protégé of the Ancient One and trains to be the new sorcerer with the aim to protect the world from evil.

The success of the movie will act as a barometer for Marvel to launch other characters on the big screen. Movie buffs who grew up reading comic books may get to see some of their favourite characters come to life on the big screen.

"Dr. Strange" will be directed by Scott Derrickson. The director is known for his work in movies like "Deliver Us from Evil" and "The Day the earth Stood Still." Another upcoming movie from the director is the horror flick "Two Eyes Staring."
