The video, filmed by traffic police in the Russian capital of Moscow, has generated 170,000 hits on video-sharing Website YouTube.

The police pulled over the driver after he was spotted driving erratically. Emerging from his vehicle, the unidentified driver first used his hand to make a call.

After realizing that he's not getting any "connection," the man pulled out a packet of cigarettes and started to engage in a detailed conversation to the person "at the end of the other line." He was trying to convince the cops that he was speaking with his father and a friend.

"Just deal with the situation," he says before hanging up and passing out with his head slumped on a policeman's shoulder.

When asked by the police what he was doing, the drunk driver replied, "Well, we were driving and we were almost there and now here we are."
