Recently, the world celebrated National Tequila Day on July 24, and to commemorate the drunken event, here is a list of alcoholic celebrities who are on the drinking spree. Be it driving under influence (DUI), underage drinking, going to rehab (or running away from it) it appears to be one of the favourite pastimes of high profile celebrities.
Compiled here is a list of celebrities that never fear to say Cheers!
1. Lindsay Lohan - Topping the list is Lindsay Lohan who was arrested twice for DUI in 2007 and has checked in to rehab uncountable times. The troubled star also spent her 27th birthday this year in rehab as oppose to her last birthday party at the West Hollywood nightclub Bootsy Bellows. The Liz &Dick star has been urged to extend her rehab stay at the Cliffside facility in Malibu beyond July 31 -- which is when she completes her 90 days of court-ordered rehabilitation. The doctors at the rehab are enjoying her company, it seems!
2. Justin Beiber: Who can forget the infamous video of Justin Bieber peeing in a restaurant mop bucket in New York. Beiber is also seen spraying a photo of Bill Clinton with cleaning fluid and saying "F**k Bill Clinton" at the end of the video. After his recent urinary escapades, the police at his hometown Canada reportedly kicked the 19-year-old singer out onto the street and gave the Bodi Nightclub a citation for serving a minor.
3. Reese Witherspoon: Next on list is Reese Witherspoon and her husband, Jim Toth who were reportedly arrested in April this year in Atlanta, Georgia for driving while intoxicated. The Hollywood starlet was also arrested separately for disorderly conduct! However the couple was spotted having drinks while dining in New York, just one month after their drunken arrest.
4. Paris Hilton: When it comes to drinking and driving, nobody can beat this blonde beauty. Paris Hilton spent 23 days in jail for driving on a suspended licence (which was suspended for DUI) in 2006. Hilton, who was pulled over for erratic driving and subsequently charged with DUI received a sentence of three years probation, requirement to attend an alcohol abuse awareness program, pay fines, and her license was suspended. This did help Hilton get an interview with Larry King!

In 2006 Gibson ended up with a sentence of three years probation, 90-day alcohol-abuse program, 12 months of Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and fined $1,300 with a 90-day license restriction. The actor also made anti-Semitic remarks to the police officer which led to his checking into rehab for his alcohol addiction.

Erin Brockovich-Ellis, the foul-mouthed legal advocate whose life story was made into a Julia Roberts-starrer film "Erin Brockovich," was arrested not for driving while drunk but for boating while intoxicated on Lake Mead in Las Vegas. The 52 year old was booked into Clark County jail immediately.

I never considered alcohol is a drug, too. But I would get drunk after every fight. I said I'm off drugs 14 years but really I wasn't. So that wasn't really true. I was just lying to myself. I would get drunk after every fight, just blasted," he told TV talk show host Larry King in 2010.
In 2006 the famed boxer left a club and almost drove his vehicle into a sheriff's vehicle. Upon investigation Mike was arrested for DUI and possession of cocaine.

Ironically the actor's erratic behaviour resulted in him being fired from hit sitcom. "We live in a country where it's always Miller Time so what are you going to do? It's happy hour somewhere in the world," Sheen said at Good Morning America after his stint in rehab.
"I don't believe in rehab anymore," the actor said adding "It's not for me. It's not for everyone. It's not a one-size-fits-all and it didn't fit me."
9. Talk Show Drinkers: A couple of stars have also confessed to sip a good cocktail every now and then -- whether it be on-air, in interviews or at award shows. Amanda Seyfried has revealed she was a little tipsy during her appearance on "The Late Show with David Letterman."
