Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton’s Most Stylish Hats [PHOTOS]
Setting aside her dresses, gowns and even her signature pumps, the Duchess of Cambridge made hats, a once outdated fashion statement, look stylish again.
Hats seem quite to be a fashion staple for the Duchess of Cambridge at important events. During the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebration, she donned fashionable hats that went on smoothly with her choice of wardrobe. Days after, she was seen attending a wedding with the Duke of Cambridge, still wearing a headpiece.
But her most favorited hat to date is the one she wore at the Thanksgiving for the Queen at the St. Paul's Cathedral. The elegant nude hat was made by designer Jane Taylor in her Fulhan studio. She paired it with a lace dress made by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen.
"Kate's hat took about eight hours to make. Kate chose a cocktail hat because it's a happy medium between a fascinator which are banned from Royal Ascot later this month. Hats must now be the width of a handspan and a more formal, bigger hat that covers the head," Taylor said.
"Cocktail hats and pillboxes are making a comeback as they are much younger but still elegant," Jane added.
The striking red hat of Kate Middleton at the Thames which she paired with a red Alexander McQueen dress was made by Sylvia Fletcher who also works in London. It looks like the Duchess of Cambridge relies on many milliners that befit her taste as the occasion calls.
