Fergie, Duchess of York will probably spend 20 years in prison if found guilty over secretly videoing orphans in Turkish-run organizations.

The Turkish government has requested the British authorities to assist in searching for evidence to support accusations of the Duchess.

Allegations came up due to the television report that exposed situations of Turkish orphanages three years ago. Turkey's chief prosecutor declared charges Thursday against the Duchess for defying the privacy of five children.

The 52-year old Duchess will likely spend 7 years and 6 months in prison or 22 years and 6 months if found guilty.

Accusations were filed without the Duchess' presence. Fergie was indicted for breaching the private lives of kids housed at the Saray orphanage, where 700 more disabled children can be found.

The Home Office did not comment yet on the government's request for mutual legal assistance. Whether they cooperate or not, questions remain unanswered until now.

Under the British law, the Duchess did not commit any crime. Such an offence is not a misdeed under the country's law; thus, she could be handed over.

The spokesman for the Duke of York's former wife, James Henderson, said the Duchess isn't aware of the charges pressed by the Turkish government.

According to him the Turkish authorities never informed her about the allegations. Also, it wasn't the Duchess who developed the program. She was on a charitable trip when the said breaching happened.

The Duchess obtained a secret footage of the orphanage by wearing a headscarf with a black wig for ITV1's Tonight program broadcast. The filming exposed how children are being tied to their beds and left inside without any food.

The video showed a child crawling along the hallway while trying to feel the sunlight on his face. The secret footage has revealed how unfortunate children are in the orphanage.
