Sarah Ferguson is standing by her former husband Prince Andrew during this harrowing period of his life, after reports of him having sex with an underage girl surfaced. Sarah said Prince Andrew is a good man and the accusations could not be true.

In an interview with Matt Lauer on "Today," the Duchess of York claimed that the accusations thrown at her husband about sleeping with an underage girl are nothing but "salacious lies." She also said that that she would not have "one word said" against him on any level.

The Duchesses said there are a lot of reasons why these accusations border on malicious intent and not truth. First, she experienced firsthand how some could just make things up to ruin a person. "I want to stand by him, because I know what it feels like to have salacious lies made up about you," she said. "I won't stand by and let his character be defamed to this level," she added. Second, she personally knows Prince Andrew as "a great father and a good man." As she defended him, she pointed out the good things he has done for Britain.

Even though they're already divorced, the Duchess and Duke of York have remained great friends. They have two daughters, Beatrice, 26, and Eugenie, 24. Sarah has been steadfast in her belief and support for ex-husband. Earlier, she had been interviewed by Daily Mail UK on whether she's sticking by the Duke despite the abuse allegations, and she said that the York family prides itself on being a "tight unit" and this would not change. She also shared that he's "the greatest man there is" and it was the best moment of her life when she married him in 1986.

Recently, Prince Andrew has been attacked left and right for engaging in inappropriate sexual relations with a minor, Virginia Roberts. Reports claimed that Prince Andrew kept the 17-year-old as his sex slave through the ministrations of his "friend" and convicted pedophile and financier, Jeffrey Epstein. Virginia herself claimed to have engaged in sex with Andrew forcibly, when she was underage, from 1999 to 2002. Virginia claimed in the documents submitted to federal court in Palm Beach, Florida that she and Prince Andrew carried out their sexual liaisons in New York, London and a Caribbean island owned by Jeffrey Epstein. Once these reports came out, the Buckingham Palace released strong denials over the allegations.
