Dwayne Johnson To Feature In ‘Shazam’ Movie—May Play Black Adam
The release date of "Shazam" has still not been announced by the producers. The movie is based on a comic book character Billy Batson who gets the powers of a wizard. The young Billy can turn into a superhero using the powers of the wizard.
Dwayne Johnson has reportedly been cast in an unknown role in Shazam. Confirming the news to Associated Press, the actor said that he still hasn't decided which role to play. The actor will be choosing between the superhero and his enemy Black Adam.
The actor also said in the report that he has been a fan of anti-heroes like Black Adam, giving hints at what the actor may be playing in the movie. The actor also promised to do his best in the movie and not disappoint fans.
The character Shazam is also known as Captain Marvel in the comic books. The alter ego of the superhero, Billy Batson, is a news reporter working in Fawcett City. The character is a member of the superhero team, the Justice League.
The word "Shazam" is an acronym for the six mythical beings whose powers the character inherits. S stands for the wisdom of Solomon, H for Hercules and his strength, A for Atlas and his stamina, Z for Zeus, A for Achilles and M for Mercury.
Meanwhile, Black Adam is an Egyptian prince who has survived till the modern era. He has also been granted powers by the same wizard as Shazam. The character is seen as a super villain and anti-hero in the comic books. The character draws his powers from the ancient Egyptian gods.
Dwayne Johnson has not denied the possibility of his character appearing in the upcoming movie "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice." Dwayne Johnson was recently seen as the star of the movie "Hercules." His other upcoming movies to be released in 2015 include "Fast and Furious" 7 and "San Andreas." The actor may also reprise his role as Hank in the upcoming movie "Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon," but no announcements have yet been made.
