Dwayne Johnson's New Job: Hunting Down Monsters
Dwayne Johnson is bringing a comic book character to life and he's out to get monsters.
The Rock will be starring in the live action adventure film, Monster Hunter's Survival Guide, based on the comic book miniseries created by John Paul Russ. The comic book was published by Zenescope Entertainment and the film based on it will be produced by Simon Kinberg under Genre Films.
So what is the movie all about?
The comic book basically revolves around the hunt of monsters but with a far better and comprehensive guide. The beasts Dwayne Johnson's character is out to get is not only limited to monsters but it also includes hunting down unnatural beasts and the undead.
Battling it out and surviving confrontations is what the comic book is all about. If it's successfully portrayed onto the big screen than this would be another block buster hit by The Rock.
Speaking of The Rock, Dwayne Johnson had quite the works this year. From being cast into Fast Five gaining it a whopping $626 million in the worldwide box office to getting back into the wrestling ring hosting the WrestleMania XXVII.
Another film that Johnson is sure to be on aside from the Monster Hunter's Survival Guide is G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation. Johnson is set to play the character of Roadblock. The movie is set to be released by the year 2012.
Another movie in the works also starring Dwayne Johnson is Journey 2: The Mysterious Island which will again be hitting the big screen by 2012. The Rock being unstoppable in all his projects and upcoming movies does not stop there.
Johnson is also currently filming the movie Snitch which is about a father forced to take down a drug dealer just to keep his own kid out of jail.
Talk about a big year for Dwayne Johnson. As for his new role in the movie, Monster Hunter's Survival Guide, reports are saying that writer and producer Simon Kinberg is overseeing the development of the film.
If the movie focuses on strategies and battle plans on destroying monsters and the undead, it would not be a surprise to hear if it won't be a big hit. People see much of that action on watching Supernatural alone.
