NBA superstar Dwayne Wade, or who is popularly known as D-Wade, almost missed LeBron's 3-day wedding event on the weekend of Sept. 13 to 15 at the Grand Del Mar Hotel in San Diego, Calif.

The basketball player, apparently, had a flat tire on his way to LeBron's wedding. He was with his girlfriend, actress Gabrielle Union, when it happened. Union was married to football superstar Chris Howard until 2006. It was in 2007 that she started a relationship with Wade and the two have been inseparable ever since.

They were supposed to attend the "welcome barbecue" on Friday. It was the first day of the said 3-day wedding event of LeBron James and Savannah Brinson.

He recorded a video of the transportation incident and posted it on his official Instagram account with a hashtag "#ihopewemakeit."

Whether the couple made it to the event is really a bit hard to tell. There weren't that many photos of the wedding that have surfaced online. However, it was reported that aside from Wade and Union, Jay-z, Beyonce, Carmelo Anthony, Ne-Yo and Chris Paul were among the 200 guests on the list.

Dwayne and LeBron are very good friends on and off the basketball court. When Miami Heat won the championship against the San Antonio Spurs in July 2013, celebrity gossip news site TMZ reported that the two were seen partying with other A-list celebrities until the morning at a night club in Miami.

The two basketball superstars built a strong closeness that has developed into a partnership. They will definitely stick with each other through thick and thin. "Sometimes they spat, sometimes they don't talk to each other, sometimes they're in perfect harmony and most of the time, at the end of the day, they're happy they're still together," wrote Brian Windhorst of ESPN.
