Derek Hough’s “Dancing with the Stars” ("DWTS") Season 21 partner, Bindi Irwin, was recently at Children's Hospital Los Angeles to pay patients a surprise visit during the Halloween weekend. The daughter of the late “Crocodile Hunter” star Steve Irwin apparently enjoyed the experience.

“It's super emotional but it's so beautiful,” Irwin told Entertainment Tonight. She added that she will bring an animal the next time she visits the hospital as some people have suggested.

It was also Irwin’s first time to celebrate Halloween, which she does not normally do in Australia. She previously admitted that she gets scared very easily, so she would rather just drink a cup of tea, play monopoly and go to bed on Halloween.

During the Halloween episode of “DWTS” Season 21, Irwin dressed up as a vampire. In the next episode, she and Hough are set to perform a dance tribute to the late Hollywood actress, Grace Kelly.

When she visited Children's Hospital Los Angeles, Irwin wore khaki button-up and jeans as her Halloween costume. She joked that the outfit is what she normally wears at home in Australia but is considered a Halloween costume in Los Angeles.

In a recent interview with People, Irwin pointed out that Australia will always be home for her. She, her mother Terri Irwin and brother Robert Irwin live and work at Australia Zoo in Queensland.

Irwin recently graduated high school and has completed some college courses online. She said it was much easier to study online while living at the zoo because she had all the tools at her fingertips and she learned from her own surroundings.

Two years before joining “DWTS” Season 21, Irwin starred in Brendan Maher’s fantasy film “Return to Nim’s Island” with Toby Wallace, John Waters and Matthew Lillard, among others. She also appeared in some TV shows, including “My Babysitter’s a Vampire,” “Curious George” and “The Project.”
