‘DWTS’ star Bindi Irwin says she’s waiting for her rebellion to hit
At 17, Bindi Irwin joined “Dancing With the Stars” Season 21 and she is one of the frontrunners of the ABC dance competition show. The teenage daughter of the late “Crocodile Hunter” star Steve Iwin recently talked about rebellion.
In an interview with People, Bindi is still waiting for her rebellion stage to hit but it has yet to happen. She recently graduated high school and for her, waking up one day and going crazy is just not appealing.
Apparently, Terri Irwin, 51, has been warned that her daughter will start being rebellious “any day now.” She said Bindi is being courageous and making good decisions for herself so she does not ask her what she thinks anymore.
According to Terri, Bindi is aware that the world does not revolve around her as she was taught to respect and consider others. The mother expressed how proud she is that the “DWTS” Season 21 star is starting to make decisions on her own.
While Bindi is currently in the United States for the “DWTS” Season 21, she has no plans to leave Australia. She said she was to make sure that in everything she does, she reflects who her late father was.
Because of this, after “DWTS” Season 21, Bindi will still stay in Australia Zoo, where her mother and brother Robert Irwin, 11, live. It is her goal to combine everything her late father worked for and everything her family represents and "push them out to the world."
As daughter of the late “Crocodile Hunter” star, Bindi considers conservation and wildlife as the biggest part of her life, her brother revealed. He implied that their family will never stop advocating for what their father was known for.
Aside from her dedication to conservation and wildlife, Bindi is also very dedicated to her “DWTS” Season 21 dance routines, according her dance partner Derek Hough. He recently wrote in TV Guide that he was surprised when he saw her huge blisters and bruises on her knees after their rehearsal.
