Stradbroke's Earl and Countess, referred to by Victorian residents as Keith and Rosie, have donated two portraits of their ancestors and are more than willing to give more. The portraits were received by the National Gallery of Victoria.

The couple is still deciding if they will donate the portraits of Admiral George Rous, the third earl and former Victoria governor.

According to the "Aussie Earl", the National Gallery of Australia could be a perfect home for the portraits.

''We're told the gallery in Canberra may be interested in Admiral Rous's pictures,'' he said.

''We've got two pictures of Admiral Rous, and a bust, a big marble bust. We were told they were interested in people who helped Australia in the early days.''

The 1796 portraits by Sir William Beechey, recently acquired by the National Gallery of Victoria, are called Lady Rous nee Charlotte Maria Whittaker, second wife of the sixth Baronet later Earl of Stradbroke, and Rt Hon. John Rous, sixth Baronet, later First Earl of Stradbroke in Suffolk Yeomanry Calvary Uniform.
