“Thinking Out Loud” singer Ed Sheeran is currently one of the top live acts in the world even without a band. According to one of his friends and supporters, it is time for the English singer and songwriter to have a band.

“Putting on my management hat, that has to change,” John told The Sun about Sheeran performing alone with his acoustic guitar and loop pedal. “I’m doing it to make sure his career goes the right way. I’m very good at that.”

Prior to this, John advised Sheeran to tour with “Bad Blood” singer Taylor Swift. The “Can’t You Feel the Love Tonight” singer also suggested to Sheeran that “Sing,” which was produced by “The Voice” Season 9 coach Pharrell Williams, as the first single from the album “x.”

Released on June 20, 2014, “x” was Sheeran’s second studio album. Aside from “Thinking Out Loud” and “Sing,” the other songs from the album are “Afire Love,” “Don’t,” “Photograph,” “Tenerife Sea” and “Runaway.”

Sheeran is yet to release his third studio album and he has not yet responded to John's suggestion about hiring a band. Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that he will be part of the cast of the upcoming romantic comedy sequel “Bridget Jones’s Baby,” which will be directed by Sharon Maguire.

Set to be released on Sept. 16, 2016, “Bridget Jones’s Baby” stars Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth and “Grey’s Anatomy” alum Patrick Dempsey. There are still no details about the role Sheeran is playing in the third “Bridget Jones” movie.

“Bridget Jones’ Baby” is Sheeran’s first full-length film although he has landed some acting roles previously. After appearing in an episode of “Undateable,” the “Thinking Out Loud” singer played Sir Cormac in the new TV series “The Bastard Executioner.”

However, it was recently announced that “The Bastard Executioner” will not be renewed for a second season. The drama series was created by “Sons of Anarchy” creator Kurt Sutter.
