'The Elder Scrolls Online Morrowind' expansion gets new Warden class and new PvP mode
Fans of Bethesda's hit fantasy series can finally go to the Morrowind region in "The Elder Scrolls Online Morrowind" expansion. The June 6 update also launches a new player-versus-player (PvP) mode called "Battlegrounds."
The "Morrowind" expansion will have players save a city called Vivec from a meteor. They will do this by aiding a demigod regain his powers. Meanwhile, players can also explore the politics of the region by partnering with an elite member of the Morag Tong assassins called Naryu Virian.
However, fans of the game can also engage in a new PvP mode called the "Battlegrounds." It features four different arenas that allow twelve players to do battle.
The PvP mode allows players to team up in groups of three. The basic "Team Deathmatch" mode will have these three teams fight against each other.
Fans can also play with two other PvP modes. "Capture the Flag" will have teams capture the flag of the other enemy teams and earn points. Meanwhile, "Domination" will have teams attack and defend strategic locations in the arenas.
The content pack also introduces a new class called the Warden. This is the first class to be introduced since "The Elder Scrolls Online" (TESO) first launched. The Warden is a magic-based class that has a wide variety of Nature magic. It can control plants and various elemental magic.
However, the highlight of the class is its War Bear companion. Players of the game can still apply the title's ability customisation system. This means the Warden can use all of the known skills in the game but he or she gets a power boost using Warden-specific abilities.
Bethesda Softworks has not released the full details of the Warden's abilities. However, fans and players can look at an overview of the expansion in "The Elder Scrolls Morrowind" website.
The expansion pays tribute to the third title in "The Elder Scrolls" series with the same name. The original open-world game, released in 2002, is set in the region of Morrowind. The title also won the Game of the Year award in 2002.
"The Elder Scrolls Online" is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (RPG) set inside the Bethesda series' universe. It was released on April 4, 2014 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Mac platforms. The title has a story separate from the original games in the series. "The Elder Scrolls Online Morrowind" is set 700 years before the story of the 2002 title with the same name.
