Ten Network Holdings is expected to share details of its new new entertainment channel today.

The Ten network's new digital multichannel, Eleven, will target the 16 to 39 age group. The launch date for the general entertainment channel has yet to be announced in one of the two linked briefings for investors, analysts and media this morning.

Eleven is expected to complement the viewership of the network's foundation channel, Ten. The target age group for Ten will still be the advertiser-friendly 25 to 54 year olds.

Some Ten shows could be moved to Eleven in order to establish parity in audience share. However, major franchises and event television such as MasterChef Australia and The 7PM Project will remain with the traditional Ten channel.

Ten will also keep the programs from CBS such as The Good Wife, the NCIS franchise and upcoming dramas Bluebloods, Defenders and the remake of Hawaii Five-0.

Ten could adapt the concept embraced by CBS and Fox TV in the United States. Both US studios are geared towards the production of programs for a wide range of audiences.

Younger viewers would go for Fox's Glee, The Cleveland Show, and sitcoms Raising Hope and Mixed Signals. Ten is more likely to retain Fox's Modern Family, Lie To Me, and The Simpsons.
