"I hope you're ready, Sydney! This Saturday I wanna meet you. Details coming soon!" Hollywood talk show chatterbox Ellen DeGeneres said on her Twitter account, in a final confirmation that her Australian fans will indeed be seeing her this coming weekend.

She even willed herself to get to know more about the birthplace of her beloved partner, actress Portia DeRossi.

Apart from Ms DeRossi, Ms DeGeneres is also accompanied by her Betty and a posse of producers. The 55-year-old talk Swisse ambassador boarded a Qantas flight to Sydney and is expected to land on Australian soil at least 14 hours after.

Ms DeGeneres and her show team was originally expected last week, but then the talk show got downed by the flu bug.

The trip, organised by SWISSE, an Australian vitamin company, was announced on her show last January to a screaming audience.

Despite being married to Ms DeRossi, this is the first time that Ms DeGeneres will be seeing Australia.
