When 56-year-old "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" host learnt about her wife's plans, Ellen reportedly "flew into rage." The source claims that she even tried to "smash" Portia's phone in an attempt to get rid of the video before it gets out and taint her reputation publicly.

Furthermore, the source revealed that Ellen even read Portia's emails in order to ensure that the alleged video wasn't already leaked to anyone. Another source revealed more secrets about the couple. "She felt like a prisoner in her own home. She went from sipping white wine occasionally to drinking at least a bottle or more a day and topping it off with a pill," the source told the publication.

Things got worse with time, the report suggests. Their problems reportedly "got to the point where she was out of it four nights a week."

"They've had vicious shouting matches - with both of them yelling cruel, soul-crushing put-downs that they both deeply regretted," the source added.

However, the couple hasn't given up on their marriage as yet. The source claims that despite all the drama including 30-day rehabilitation program and massive fights, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi are working towards saving their marriage from divorce and repair the damage.
