Ellie Goulding Admits To 'Drinking First Before Singing' And Not Being Easily Impressed By Hunks

Ellie Goulding might be a top performer and singer, but that does not mean her nerves don't get to her before crunch time. She said in a recent interview that she always drinks first before performing, and her soberness also determines how impressed she'll be about a guy's looks.

The "Lights" singer admits to always getting some drinks first before entertaining anyone with her psychedelic hits. "The only time I didn't do that was two years ago when I supported Bruno Mars, when I felt like I needed a bit of a break, it was probably the worst time for me to not drink as they all like to party and have fun," the singer shared to 3am.

She's not getting drinks to get drunk, though. She's doing it to feel more pumped up and excited. Moreover, when it comes to shots, the "Burn" singer can only do a couple. She shared that this depends on how much she has already eaten.

The singer is now preparing for her new and upcoming album. Her fervent wish? To have her friend and fellow headliner Calvin Harris do one track with her. She said that they have been friends for years and work well together. She further said that they can have fun and have a laugh while at it. She admits that working with people she does not have a connection with is a bad idea, no matter how much she wants to work with that person.

Aside from this Calvin tidbit, the singer also shared that in her new album, there would be an old-school male-female duet that she is excited about. She shared that she's already happy with a few songs that have already been completed and that she's happy to have played the guitar on this album.

Moving on from her music, the actress shared that she's not easily swayed by good-looking hunks. She told 3am that sometimes her perceptions of guys depends on how many drinks she already had. She shared that if she's sober then she'll be harder to please and that the guy has to look "pretty epic" then.

Dougie Poynter must have impressed her though. Not only is he her boyfriend, but it has been reported that they have been quite inseperable lately, according to 3am.
