Ellie Goulding--Prince Harry: Singer Hugs The Royal Backstage At Invictus Ceremony
Ellie Goulding eagerly posed for the camera backstage with Prince Harry during the Invictus Games closing ceremony over the weekend.
The singer and Prince Harry are friends for several years according to Daily Mail. So when the royal invited her to sing at the culmination of the Invictus Games, which he organised, Ellie reportedly dashed to East London. Following an appearance at London Fashion Week on Sunday, Mirror U.K. adds the singer headed to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for her performance. Dressed in a black cropped top paired with white trousers and boots, Ellie Goulding entertained the crowd with her hit songs "Burn" and "I Need Your Love."
Backstage, she was caught getting cosy with the British Royal. The pair were spotted embracing each other and even posed for the camera for old time's sake. (See photos from the links above).
Prince Harry and Ellie Goulding were reportedly being friends for a long time. The singer even performed during Kate Middleton and Prince William's wedding reception back in 2011. On the previous month, she also nominated the royal, who turned 30 on Monday, Sept. 15, to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
The closing ceremony was said to have been a star-studded event. Rock band "The Foo Fighters" and Ryan Adams also took center stage to perform. Among the other attendees spotted during the Invictus Games closing ceremony was Prince Harry's ex-girlfriend Cressida Bonas.
Cressida Bonas was spotted hanging out with friends. A drink in hand, she was photographed enjoying herself at the event. Daily Mail claims she did not seem too worried over bumping into Prince Harry again. The two dated for two years.
Prince Harry reportedly began his 30th birthday celebration last Sunday night by toasting a beer to double amputee Dave Henson, who is also Britain's Invictus team captain. According to The Guardian the royal addressed the crowd on behalf of the event.
"On the birthday side of things, I'll be chuffed to bits when I'm having a beer with Dave Henson ... we turn 30 at exactly the same time, last Sunday night. We're really looking forward to being 30, both feeling quite old about it," he said.
Additionally, Prince Harry acknowledged the "servicemen and women and their families" for their "unconquerable character" that he described as their "Invictus spirit" during the four-day Invictus Games.
