Sir Elton John's new song "The Diving Board" is inspired by the tumultuous lives of talented stars who have taken the path of self-destruction and get lost in the way of stardom. The legendary singer says that his new track from his yet-to-be released album is inspired by the lives of Lindsay Lohan and Justin Bieber.

"The Diving Board" is a title track from the album by same name. The song explored the other side of fame and money, which takes away mental peace from the stars and makes them indulge in doing crazy stuff.

Talking to Britain's Event magazine, the singer admitted that his fans might consider that the song is inspired by his own life as it talks about drugs and fame but it is actually about all young stars who achieve fame at a very young age since they are talented but can't handle it with a balanced approach and end up making frequent tips to rehab or display tantrums.

"(You might think it's about me) the drugs, the excesses, the millions on flowers, the tantrums, the outfits and the glasses... But it isn't. It's about Lindsay Lohan, Justin, all these kids who are out there now not knowing what the hell is going on," the singer told the magazine.

Then the legendary "Sacrifice" singer went on to express his empathy with actress Lindsay Lohan and called her a "great actress." He also expressed his concern over the "kids" for whom he feels sorry as they will "get swallowed up" in their own lives.

"I hate to think of Lindsay because she had a talent, she was a great actress, and then it became all about the madness, the parties and everyone forgets about what put them there in the first place," John said.

"They get lost in the idea that they are famous for who they are, not what they are. I feel sorry for these kids... I worry that these kids will just get swallowed up," he added.

Elton John is all set to release his first solo LP in seven years this September, which will feature 12 new songs and three piano interludes. The first song is "Oceans Away" and the second is "Home Again," which can be heard in full on You Tube.
