Eminem net worth update: Rap god drops out of Forbes Celebrity 100 list
Diddy leads Hip-Hops Wealthiest Artists
Without an Eminem new album 2016 and dismal gigs during the scoring period, the hip-hop star’s net worth failed to keep up with those who made it to the Forbes 2016 Celebrity 100 list.
While Forbes magazine did not publish Marshall Mathers III’s net worth for the June-to-June scoring period, it is worthy to note that the last on the top 100 wealtiest celebrities -- singer Britney Spears and model Gisele Bundchen -- both registered US$30.5 million (AU$40.8 million) in net worth for 2016.
“The Detroit native only played 13 shows during our scoring period, but he sure made them count,” Forbes said without disclosing Eminem's net worth.
“His six shows on last summer's co-headlining Monster Tour with Rihanna averaged north of US$5 million (AU$6.7 million) per show; their pair of shows at Metlife Stadium grossed a total of US$12.4 million (AU$16.6 million), slightly more than Jay Z and Beyoncé tallied over two nights at the same venue,” the magazine reported.
The "Love the Way You Lie" rapper ranked ranked 82nd on Forbes Celebrity 100 list in 2015 and 71st in 2011.
Eminem fans are speculating on the future of the rapper, whose rags-to-riches ascend to fame and fortune has inspired many. The Grammy award-winning artist's last album, "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" was released in 2013. Eminem is currently busy on his online gaming venture with "Shady Wars" and on television with the "Narc" series among others.
Hip-Hop’s wealthies
Meanwhile, Sean “Diddy” Combs emerged on top of Forbes Five: Hip-Hop’s Wealthies Artists 2016, with US$750 million (AU$1 billion) net worth. With his stakes on TV Network Revolt, clothing line Sean John and alkaline water Aquahydrate, Diddy is likely to become the Hip-Hop industry’s first billionaire.
Andre “Dr. Dre” Young followed with US$710 million (AU$950 million), while Shawn “Jay Z” Carter ranked third with US$610 million (AU$817 million). Bryan “Birdman” Williams landed on the fourth spot with US$110 million (AU$147 million), and Aubrey Drake Graham made it to the fifth spot with US$60 million (AU$80 million).
To compile the Forbes Five list, Forbes magazine has looked at past earnings and valued the artists’ current holdings.
