Effective October 2, Emirates will now be flying four times daily to Brisbane.

Using the giant Airbus A380, Emirates will have a Dubai arrival and departure and an Auckland arrival and departure. The development likewise increases the number of return flights between Australia and the Dubai hub to four each way per day, two each way from Sydney, and one each way from Brisbane and Melbourne.

"Australia represents an important market for Emirates and ranks in the top three countries on Emirates' global network. Central to this relationship is the ongoing support for tourism and trade provided by adding larger capacity aircraft between our two countries, and a fourth A380 for Australia will further complement our partnership with Qantas," Salem Obaidalla, Emirates senior vice president for Commercial Operations, Far East and Australasia, said.

He noted the Auckland-Brisbane-Dubai route is a popular choice among business and leisure travelers.

The additional two daily Brisbane services will increase capacity of 132 seats for sale per flight and 1,848 week, according to Mr Obaidalla.Currently operated by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, the double-daily service is offering 354 seats.

Starting October, together with Qantas, Emirates will fly a total of six daily A380 services to Dubai.
