Emma Roberts, Evan Peters Allegedly Call Off Engagement Because They Grew Apart

Emma Roberts and Evan Peters have reportedly called off their engagement. According to the source, the two have decided to do so because they "already grew apart” and have a lot of things they still need to do individually.

People magazine has inside information that “American Horror Story” star Emma Roberts and “Avengers” actor, more known as “Quicksilver” Evan Peters have called off their engagement. The two got engaged on Jan 2014, after they started dating in the summer of 2012. According to the source, the two just grew apart since the engagement, especially since they still have “a lot of growing up to do.” The source added that they need to do some things on their own. The two have yet to confirm the report themselves.

While the two often gave sweet interviews about each other and their relationship, it can also be remembered that back in July 2013, Roberts was taken into custody one early morning in Montreal after she “violently attacked” Peters. The two were said to be engaged in a physical fight. Police were called to the couple’s hotel room and Emma was put under arrest. Later, she was released because Evans decided not to press charges against her. According to their reps, who provided a joint statement, the whole thing was just a misunderstanding. “It was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding. Ms. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple are working together to move past it,” the statement reads.

In her earlier Nylon magazine interview (via Hollywood Life), Roberts shared that the met at a dinner party and only worked together for “Adult World.” Everyone assumed that they were already dating then, but Roberts clarified that they were not. She said they were mutually attracted to each other but came to only know of their mutual feelings several months after the movie. She said that they did not get along well during the movie and Evans would not speak to her. But it turned out that we both liked each other, so months later, we started dating, which worked out for the best,” she added.
