Ditch those killer heels and wear comfortable flats to the red carpet! This is the lesson that Emma Thompson has learned from the Golden Globe Awards last week and applied to this year's red carpet at Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG Awards). Yes the "Saving Mr. Banks" actress was probably the only celebrity on the red carpet for whom the comfort comes first and then fashion. Thompson paired her vintage 1930s dress with open-toe silver flat sandals from Christian Louboutin and enjoyed moving around in them comfortably.

"They're so beautiful and I'm so happy," confessed Thompson to E! News' host Giuliana Rancic about her selection of sandals. "They just happen to be gorgeous," gushed the actress with a smile. And we could not help agreeing with Emma on this. Many actresses are not so fond of heels and are actually in a lot of pain while wearing them to various Award shows but never dare to come in flats. Julia Roberts was seen leaving bare feet after the Golden Globes award show as she must have had a painful experience standing in those killer heels for so many hours.

Former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham has bunions on her feet from wearing heels for long duration but is still seen in them all the time. Same is true for socialite Kim Kardashian who posted a picture of her heel-wearing swollen feet on Instagram while she was pregnant but did not ditch them anytime.

It's a pleasant surprise that Emma has actually come forward and ditched the high heel look for red carpet. The British actress was seen holding her heels in one hand and a martini in the other as she gave her acceptance speech during the Golden Globes last Thursday. She was at her fun best at the SAG Awards. Thompson did at SAG Awards what Lawrence did at the Golden Globes.

Thompson photo bombed the absolutely gorgeous "12 Years Slave" actress Lupita Nyong'o as she was posing for the photographers. Take a look at the picture here. Emma also enjoyed dancing to the music as she presented an award with Ewan McGregor and if this was not enough, she asked if the music was available on CD!
