Emma Watson Denies Dating Prince Harry
After the rumours of Emma Watson and Prince Harry dating spread like wildfire, the “Harry Potter” star finally addressed the rumours herself. Emma denied dating Prince Harry, admonishing the world for immediately believing the media says.
Hello magazine reported that Emma had denied she is dating Prince Harry. She took to Twitter to reach out to the fans who went into frenzy over the unexpected pairing. "WORLD. Remember that little talk we had about not believing everything written in the media?!” Emma said to her 16.5million followers. In a span of an hour, Emma’s post has been liked and retweeted for a significant number of times.
Some of her fans said they knew the dating rumours were too weird to be true. Some were simply happy that she took it upon herself to clarify the rumours and for “bringing the world back to reality as per usual,” as one Twitter user said.
The rumours that she and Prince Harry dating started earlier this week, when Australian magazine Woman’s Day asserted that the two of them are in a secret relationship, going out of dates to get to know each other better. The Australian magazine was thorough with the details it provided on the said relationship, stating that it was Prince Harry who took notice of Emma first and wanted to date her.
According to a source of the Australian magazine, after Emma broke up with Oxford University student Matt Janney, Harry tasked some of his friends to get Emma’s attention by inviting her to a party that he was hosting. The source explained that a party would not make Emma feel overwhelmed or “put on the spot.” Prince Harry reportedly wanted Emma to see how fun he could be too through the party.
It remains unclear how the Australian magazine’s source got wind of Prince Harry and Emma Watson’s alleged secret dates as the two have never been snapped together. Emma had never been officially sighted at any public engagement where Prince Harry took part either. The only time she rubbed shoulders with the royalty was when she attended a star-studded dinner held at the Windsor Castle in celebration of the achievements attained by The Royal Marsden hospital in 2014. Stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Mario Testino and Laura Carmichael were in attendance as well.
