Emma Watson Keeps it Casual as She Arrives to Prepare for Graduation
There are so many reasons to celebrate for this weekend, for some it’s a long Memorial Day weekend while for Hollywood actress Emma Watson this is the day she’s been waiting for, her graduation day. Graduating with a degree in English literature, the British actress will be attending her graduation ceremony on May 25, Sunday, from Ivy League school Brown University.
Best known for her role as Hermione Granger in “Harry Potter” series, Watson started studying at Brown in 2009 but had to stop after 18 months because of her filming schedules. The actress took a “gap year” after filming the “Harry Potter” series and took a few semesters at Oxford as she juggled her time between school and making a few blockbuster movies.
The “Noah” star recently described her experience at Brown and being a famous actress in school.
“I guess everyone in their freshman [first] year is nervous and figuring it all out,” Watson revealed in an interview posted on Express.
“I think people took pity on me. ‘She’s English, she doesn’t really know where she’s going.' Brown were weirdly protective of me. They saw it as their role to help me have that experience.”
She also revealed that her dad Chris has been waiting for her to don a cap and gown and finally it’s happening now after five years of hard work. “In England we graduate in three years and my dad’s like, ‘When is this happening? When is graduation because you’ve been doing this now for ages?’ He’s very impatient,” added Watson.
Ditching her usual Hollywood glamour, the actress was spotted on Wednesday, May 21, when she arrived at JFK airport. Emma sported a pair of tracksuit bottoms and trainers, and finished it off with a grey baggy jumpers as she made her way out of the arrivals lounge.
Make-up free and looking so fresh, the “Harry Potter” alum looked every inch the natural beauty as she let hair loosely over her shoulders. Obviously going for comfort over style, she hid herself in a pair of stylish sunglasses as she headed to the streets of New York.
The actress is currently filming her upcoming thriller movie, "Regression." Playing the lead role as Angela Gray, she will star alongside Aaron Ashmore, David Thewlis and Ethan Hawke.
