A representative for Emma Watson has denied rumors that the actress was auditioning for a role in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, film adaptation of the best-selling Stieg Larrson novel.

The spokeperson for Watson told GossipCop.com that the "absolutely false on all accounts."

Last week, the British actress cut her hair pixie style, fueling speculations that she was auditioning for the lead role of computer hacker Lisbeth Salander. An insider quoted by The Sun said that Watson chage her hairstyle to 'look the part.' The character of Salander is much coveted with actresses including Carrey Mulligan and Ellen Page reportedly vying for the role.

Originally, the haircut was seen as Watson's farewell to the Harry Potter franchise.
