As the U.S. East Coast felt the brunt of hurricane-turned-superstorm (but still powerful) Sandy, Emma Watson and other celebrities joined Twitter users in posting #Sandy shout-outs.

Even before Sandy made a landfall, the ill weather system has already halted production of Watson's latest film, Noah. The young actress saw the humour in the situation and tweeted:

"I take it that the irony of a massive storm holding up the production of Noah is not lost @DarrenAronofsky@russellcrowe @MattyLibatique,"

As the presence of Sandy still looms over New York City, Watson tweeted again:

"To everyone affected by #sandy my thoughts are with you. Hope everyone is ok. Xx"
