Emma Watson Revealed Balancing Pole Dancing Classes with Oxford University Studies [PHOTOS AND VIDEO]
Actress Emma Watson is really dedicated when it comes to portraying movie characters that she managed to balance work with personal life. For "The Bling Ring" film, the 22-year-old British beauty revealed that she took pole dancing classes to perfectly portray the role of Nicki while studying literature at the Oxford University.
"I did learn to pole dance for the film and I have a small pole dancing scene. But it's not a performance for anyone else, it's just me messing around with my friends," Watson told Britain's GQ magazine. The actress further added that she had a "surreal experience" balancing her movie role and life as a student at Oxford.
"I was studying the modernists writing about Virginia Woolf on Friday night then driving to London for pole dancing classes on Saturday morning," the young actress shared. After learning how to pole dance, Emma Watson began admiring and respecting the exotic dancers.
"I was incredibly ungraceful at first. The upper-body strength and the core strength you need to do it gracefully is crazy. I take my hat off to the women who can do it. You have to be incredibly strong," Watson stated. Furthermore, the actress found it interesting and challenging to portray such a "superficial and vain" character that she despised.
At present time, Emma Watson is still focusing with her studies as a junior college student this semester at the Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. The actress is determined in finishing her college degree despite a busy work schedule.
"The Bling Ring" is director Sofia Coppola's latest film based on the true story of real-life students obsessed with the idea of fame and fortune. The story of the film revolved around the group of teenagers who stole from the homes of Hollywood celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom and Lindsay Lohan from 2008 to 2009.
