British young actress Emma Watson shared to Entertainment Weekly about her transition from playing the geeky Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series to her first post-Potter starring role in the adaptation of Stephen Chbosky's The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

In the interview, Emma talked about how she approached her first go at the American accent, what author, screenwriter, and director Chbosky promised her about the feature, and bonding with her costars, including Logan Lerman and Ezra Miller.

The beautiful actress was persuaded to jump into the film by author, screen writer and director Stephen Chbosky.

"At our initial meeting, he said, 'Okay, not only is this going to be one of the most important parts you play, you're also going to have the summer of your life and meet some of your best friends.' I thought, 'That's quite a claim. Who is this guy?" Watson says with a laugh. "Everything he said came true."

The movie is based on the 1999 best-selling novel of Stephen Chobsky that tells a coming of age story of Charlie and his experiences and realizations about growing up. It beautifully presented the highs and lows of being a teenager. The book is often compared to J.D. Salinger's controversial yet highly recommended novel "Catcher in the Rye."

The film stars Emma Watson, Logan Lerman and Ezra Miller as well as Nina Dobrev, Paul Rudd, Mae Whitman and Johnny Simmons. The movie will be shown in September 21. There is no word yet about its Australian release.
