Emmys 2015: Kerry Washington teases ‘complicated’ Olivia-Fitz relationship in ‘Scandal’ Season 5 [PHOTOS]
Things are (still) complicated in “Scandal” Season 5, according to Kerry Washington. She says it’s only natural for a Shondaland drama.
On the red carpet at Sunday’s Emmy Awards, Ryan Seacrest asked Kerry Washington whether her character Olivia Pope and President Fitz Grant (Tony Goldwyn) would still be together when “Scandal” Season 5 premieres on Sept. 24.
Washington said things are always complicated in Shondaland serials, but there some beneath-the-sheets action as seen in the “Scandal” Season 5 promos. This means the romantic development in the Season 4 ending will continue into at least the first episodes of the show’s fifth chapter.
Meanwhile, the viewers can expect some royalty presence in the premiere episode of the fifth season of “Scandal.” One of the latest ABC promos is saying the season opener comes with some “twisty [and] crazy goodness.”
Rob Lowe joined Washington on stage at the Emmys 2015. They presented the award for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Limited Series Or A Movie. Frances McDormand has won the category.
From getting her glam on to the events at Emmys 2015, Washington is updating her 2.5 million followers on Twitter. The Olivia Pope actress is wearing a fabulous Marc Jacobs dress. See some of her red carpet photos in the slideshow above.
Washington has been nominated twice for the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category at the Emmys. She’s not nominated this year, but she came to the event as a presenter. Viola Davis is this year's Shondaland flag bearer for the same category. [UPDATE: Emmy Awards 2015: Shonda Rhimes shouts-out love for HTGAWM’s Viola Davis]
The 67th Annual Primetime Emmys is still ongoing at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
[UPDATE] Viola Davis won the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series award at the Emmys 2015. Davis’ performance as central character Annalise Keating on the freshman year of “How to Get Away with Murder” has been widely lauded by both critics and viewers. She is the first black woman to win in the said category at the Emmys. Follow this link for the complete list of Emmy Awards 2015 winners.
