‘Empire’ season 3b news: Release date, cast, episode spoilers; Demi Moore has recurring new role
The fourth season of Fox’s “Empire” TV series will have actress Demi Moore return in her first-ever recurring TV role in decades. The actress was last seen in an akin role on “General Hospital” back in 1982.
“Empire” season 4, which has been slated for a fall 2017 release in the US, was announced and renewed last month at the Television Critics Association winter press tour. The multiple Emmy award-winning show will be back for an 18-episode telecast to be hosted on the Fox channel.
Moore, well-known for roles in “The Ghost” and “Indecent Proposal,” will be making her first appearance in “Empire” season 3 finale on April 5 in the US. The episode has been titled “Play On.” The actress will be playing “a take-charge nurse with a mysterious past,” as described by Entertainment Weekly. It has also been said that Moore’s character will become “treacherously entangled” with the Lyon family in “Empire” season 4.
More news of the show reveals four other newcomers for the fourth instalment of “Empire.” They include Eva Longoria, Taye Diggs, Phylicia Rashad and Nia Long. Also, Moore’s daughter Rumer Willis will be joining her mother as a singer-cum-songwriter, Tory Ash, confirms EOnline. It is however unknown if the mother and daughter will have a scene together.
“Empire” season 3B returns on March 22. The episode has been titled “Keys to the Kingdom.” Here’s what has been revealed from the episode description:
“The battle between Lucious and Cookie explodes into their biggest war yet. After launching a deadly missile at Angelo, Lucious announces his new music project, Inferno, and puts everyone on notice – especially Cookie, who then vows to knock him off his throne for good. The two engage in an epic clash – fueled by a history of love, loyalty, and betrayal.”
“Empire’s” renewal hardly came as a surprise given the fact that it is one of the biggest television hits in the past decade. The show’s third season saw “Empire” as the top broadcast drama among adults in the 18-49 demographic, retaining the title through its entire run, according to Variety.
The show was created by Lee Daniels and Danny Strong. It debuted on Jan. 7, 2015. Ilene Chaiken is the showrunner for the series. Daniels, Strong and Chaiken co-executive produce the show with Brian Grazer, Francie Calfo and Sanaa Hamri.
Watch “Empire” season 3 midseason premiere on March 22, 2017. Meanwhile, fans can stream the previous episodes on Fox.
