"Release Me" singer Engelbert Humperdinck is being eyed to be the new judge on the American Idol.

Idol founder Simon Cowell left his seat as judge following the finale of the talent show last week.

Agent Vicki Roberts suggested Humperdinck to be Cowell's replacement, saying, "He incorporates so much more than music in his stage shows, and he is intimately involved with the staging of the show, the arrangement of the musical numbers, the roles of the accompanying instruments in his band, the lighting, the sound, the musicality of the shows, and all facets of what it takes to launch and execute his concerts."

"That, along with his legendary status, is why he is the perfect candidate for the position of judge on American Idol."

Humperdinck's residency in Los Angeles is also an advantage for the producers of the program since the talent show is produced in the said city.

He is likewise active in mentoring up and coming young talents at his home recording studio.

Humperdinck and the Australian girl group Trinity collaborated on the song "Ever 'n Ever". The track is scheduled for release later this year.
