England Cricketer Kevin Pietersen Plays Cricket in Dubai Street, Shares Video on Instagram
Kevin Pietersen may have felt to brush up his basics once again after a hapless performance at the Indian Premiere League. That was probably why he joined a group of young boys playing cricket in the streets of Dubai and asked if he could join in.
The England cricketer gave local boys a surprise when he asked them if he could join. Daily Mail reported that the locals had been shocked to see Pietersen approach them as they apparently identified him. Pietersen saw the young boys play cricket and pulled over. He asked if he could bat for a while. The locals appeared to be in "awe" to watch Pietersen play with them in the street. Pietersen wore a t-shirt and black shorts with a green baseball cap.
Pietersen shared a video on Instagram. "I saw these guys playing on the side of the rd in #mydubai this evening and I really wanted to go play with them, so we stopped and I walked out and spent 5mins batting. I will never forget the faces on these guys. Such lovely people & v v good too! I've always wanted to do this and today I did ... this made me smile so much! Hope you guys like this short video!" he wrote. Later he shared another short clip and wrote: "Here's another little clip ... seriously, this made me so happy!"
The 33-year-old former England cricketer led the Delhi Daredevils at the IPL 2014. The teams finished last on the table, winning just two out of 14 games. According to ESPN, KP - as he is fondly known as - "did not have much of an impact" in the tournament even though he had been one of the two cricketers the franchise put its most money on, the other one being Dinesh Karthik. KP missed a few matches in the beginning due to finger injury. He "found semblance of form only towards the very end of the tournament when it was too late. His captaincy also left a lot to be desired."
