Fulham FC will face Cardiff City FC for their sixth match in the English Premier League on Saturday at the Craven Cottage.

It will be the first time that these two sides will meet after 15 long years.

After winning their first match against Sunderland FC, Fulham has struggled to come up with a win in the Premier League, registering its last victory against fellow top-flight team Everton FC in the League Cup on Tuesday.

Lack of finishing a good finishing touch may be attributed to the Cottagers' record as they were only able to score three goals in their five games in the Premiership.

Only Darren Bent was able to find the net once out of their four true strikers, while defending the opposition's counter-attacks and set pieces has been very poor for them.

Fulham boss Martin Jol seems to be satisfied despite his team's poor run and remains optimistic ahead of the match.

"If you look at our programme, we had three away games and two of them were against Arsenal and Chelsea so we were probably fortunate to get one away win against Sunderland," Jol told premierleague.com.

"If the mentality stays the same as it was [on Tuesday against Everton] then we have two home games [against Cardiff and Stoke] coming up now so hopefully we can get back in the other half of the table."

Out with injury (Fulham): Maarten Stekelenburg (shoulder), Matthew Briggs (groin), Ashkan Dejagah (ankle)

Doubtful: Aaron Hughes (groin), Bryan Ruiz (ankle)

Newly promoted Cardiff is in a decent position after considering the league's highly competitive nature.

However, they need to improve their record (5 points), with only a point clear of the relegation zone.

Cardiff Malky Makay has a relatively healthy team to field in with only Andreas Cornelius (ankle) ruled out.
