Paulinho scores the decider in added-time to as Tottenham Hotspur FC overcame Cardiff City FC, 1-0, in the English Premier League.

After coming on in the 71st minute, Erik Lamela's appearance proved vital as he was able to make a run on the right flank to provide the crucial assist to Paulinho, who flicked the ball towards the net with his right foot.

The Spurs dominated the game with an astounding 29 total shots at goal, and controlled possession at 64 per cent, with the final shot finally going past Cardiff goalkeeper David Marshall.

Tottenham have only scored five times this season but has managed to win four out of their five games, garnering 12 points, to finish as joint leaders with Arsenal FC.

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas was pleased to have come up with the 1-0 score line in spite of their dominance.

"Today it was different from normal in that there was justice in football. We created so many chances that there could only be one winner. It's a great win. But I suffered a lot... like everyone else," Villas-Boas told premierleague.com.

"Bearing in mind the win they got against Man City there won't be many teams getting points here, so I'm happy. It's persistence, the more they come [late goals], the more the players believe they can do it.

"We kept the ball moving well, [but] they kept on resisting - the sense of frustration was building in the team

"It was a great contribution from Erik [Lamela] in that goal, all of them made the right impact and that's the spirit you need."
