Jose Mourinho's Chelsea will travel to St. James' Park to face Newcastle United.

The Blues are on a six-game winning streak in all competitions, but Mourinho knows that Newcastle are determined to bounce back after suffering back-to-back defeats under an abled manager in Alan Pardew.

"Newcastle have a good manager. They have good players, a good team and a good crowd. They lost a local derby which normally shakes the pride of the players, but every time I played in Newcastle it was always difficult: I only won a Carling Cup game there," Mourinho told chelseafc.com.

"It's normal that everybody tries to win against the top teams in the table and at the moment everybody wants to win against us, against Arsenal, against Man City. I'm waiting for a difficult match today."

The Portuguese manager highlighted the bigger picture that his players must work in synergy in order to attain their short-term objective, that is, to continue winning games.

"The team, and the objectives of the team, are more important than the individual. Players have their individual ambitions and their individual targets but they realise the team is more important than themselves, and their team-mate is important too," he added.

"When they play they give everything and when they don't play they want the team to do well and support their mates."

Meanwhile, Pardew has emphasised that his squad must take their game notches higher since they will be facing a tough club in Chelsea.

"What we have to be sure of is that we play a game that gives us a chance of winning the game," Pardew said nufc.co.uk.

Making the right decisions on the pitch as well as employing the manager's instructions may give the Magpies a chance of winning.

"Tactically, we'll have to make sure that's right. I'm looking forward to it. When you get a manager like Jose come to your stadium, and you get the players of John Terry and Frank Lampard, it raises the expectation of players and coaches of the other team and if you can do that, you've got a chance of winning.

"If you're daunted by it, you've got no chance."

"To beat one of the top teams - and let's be honest, Chelsea are one of those - you need to be at your very best."

"You can't win a game in the Premier League, when they've got the resources they've got, unless you're at your very best."
