Who doesn't love receiving awards and honors? But who loves receiving Ernie?

Ernie Awards 2013, in its 21st year recognizes sexism and misogyny and awards the highest stature at being sexist. The awards winners were announced on Wednesday. The Australian Prime Minister received nominations and has been awarded "The Clinton" the award for the "repeat offender."

The top winner of the questionable status that this award renders was bagged by Students of Sydney University's Wesley College. They were presented with the top awards, the Gold Ernie for the comment "It's not rape if it's my birthday." The students had distributed about hundred such stubby holders to the new students at the university during their orientation week.

"It's the students' unreformed 1950s misogyny that really gets up the women's noses. It's that 'born to rule,' 'aren't we funny?' and almost criminal attitude to women that did it," Burgmann said on the event.

Some of the other winners include Alan Jones, who has received an Ernie last year as well. He received celebrity Ernie for his insensate comments over Julia Gillard. "The old man recently died a few weeks ago of shame," is Alan Jones' comment.

It has been reported a few of the 50 to 60 sexist comments were made on Julia Gillard. Another award for the political category was taken by Liberal MP, Mal Brough for a comment again on Julia Gillard.

AFL footballer Nick Riewoldt also was among other winners. He won in the sports category for he believed that he should be still playing football as he is the core of football despite being charged for the rape case.

The Chief of Army, Lieutenant General David Morrison, won the prize of "The Good Ernie" for his comment on female soldiers were "worthy of the best tradition of the Australian army. If that does not suit you, then get out."

Paul Sheehan received the Ernie for media category.

"There are some good and talented women knocking on the door of the ministry," is the comment that earned Prime Minister Tony Abbott the nomination and the award, which he said while defending his one-woman cabinet.

The award function was organized by Meredith Burgmann, the founder and an ex-politician. The gathering of about 330 women at NSW Parliament House commemorated the event acknowledging the worst sexism practiced in the year 2013.

Ernie Awards are given to the worst sexist comments made across the categories including, media, sport, celebrity, justice and politics. And during the function the comments that earn the nomination are read out.
