The ESPY award event was a delight indeed. The sports luminaries along with some Hollywood stars walked down the red carpet and looked exquisite in ravishing ensembles The Mad Man star, John Hamm proficiently handed the hosting duties while James and Serena Williams ( not present at the event) were named the best male and female athletes of the year.

The best team was awarded to the Miami Heat and Phelps was honored for sweeping the most of the medals at the last year's London Games.

The best female athlete award was presented by Jason Sudeikis who joked about his fiancée Olivia Wilde of having made out with more chicks then he has. Hamm's opening lines were applauded at a high pace as he cracked jokes one after another about all the guys in the room hidden behind the sunglasses

The first lady Michelle Obama too was also there (via video) to congratulate Robin Roberts, host of Good Morning America, who was awarded for bravely fighting the battle of blood cancer caused by radiation treatment. As revealed by eonline.com, Obama said in her video "Robin has inspired all of us with her courage and tenacity as she overcame a life-threatening illness not once, but twice," said Obama, who has had quite an award-show presence this year. "And she has also touched so many of us with her warmth and her compassion. Robin, congratulations, I can't think of anyone more deserving of this award, love you much."

One of the most unexpected sight of the event was when instead of Jay-Z (who has recently jumped on the bandwagon of sports agent) , Jay Pharoah came upon the stage to act like him. Enacting Jay Z he said, ""Los Angeles, what up, what up? It's H.O.V.A.," "Let me tell you, I want to be your agent, aight? You all know I made 17 albums, opened a chain of nightclubs, started a clothing line, married the most beautiful famous woman in the whole world. And you probably thought to yourself, I bet Jay-Z's got tons of free time to worry about my career".

Everyone was left stunned by the stint but they had a hearty life.
