Bruce Jenner's mom Esther is the happiest that Kris and his son are divorcing. An added boon for the fiery lady would be if Kris drops the Jenner surname and just go back to being a "Kardashian."

In an interview with Mail Online, Esther Jenner did not hold herself back. She said she's really happy that her son and Kris decided to divorce, even though they have been married for more than two decades and had a huge family, not to mention a famous reality show that would surely reveal every little bit that is happening to the family, divorce and all. She called the divorce "necessary" and would like Kris to revert her surname to Kardashian because she does not want her "to carry the name."

The divorce was a relief for Bruce's mom because she never did like Kris anyway. She thinks Kris is controlling, domineering and backstabbing. She said she stayed far from the momager as much as she could. She even criticised her parenting skills, especially for raising up Kim, Khloe and Kourtnery Kardashian "without any morals."

She thinks the divorce did her son a world of good, especially with Bruce having more freedom to do what he wants, buy what he wants. "Since he has got his freedom he has his own checkbook and doesn't have to ask Kris for money which he's had to do, he couldn't even buy one of his little helicopters without asking her for money. He's not shy about telling you that she controlled the money," the 88-year-old said.

Asked though if she knows the real reason why Bruce and Kris divorced, now after years of marriage and after their children have all grown up, Esther said she does not know. She shared that Bruce never tells her the reasons for his past divorce so she does not expect him to tell her now. The former Olympic gold medalist had been married three times already: to Chrystie Crownover, Linda Thompson and then Kris. But he never explains his breakups to his mom, so Esther could only speculate what the real reasons are for this specific divorce, like the rest of the world.

Kris Jenner, for her part, is also happy that Bruce is having "more freedom." In an interview with Today, she does not check in on him "play by play" anymore but shared she just wants him to be happy as he is still the father of her two children.
