Lietuvos Rytas will be visiting VTB United League rivals Lokomotiv Kuban for a Group D action on gameday 2 in the Euroleague.

Lokomotiv head coach Evgeny Pashutin is all too familiar with Rytas and feels that the latter will be their toughest adversary this season.

"Lietuvos Rytas is our main opponent this season, we play them both in the Euroleague and VTB United League," Pashutin told euroleague.net.

"Just Sunday we lost our first VTB game against them and it really made us focus on analyzing this tough opponent."

Outside shooting is identified as one of the main weapons of the Rytas, and Pashutin wants to limit their production in such area.

"We watched a lot of film and it's clear that we need to pressure their perimeter players and control the boards better. We are going to have Mantas Kalnietis back and it will definitely give us more versatility on both ends of the court," he added.

"This is our first Euroleague home game and we will definitely play for the win!"

Lokomotiv Center opined that Rytas are a good defensive team so much so that it translates to their execution on the offensive end.

"Lietuvos Rytas is such a good team and they are strong as a unit. There is no one particular player that they center their game around."

"They have great defensive schemes so what we need to do first thing is to execute our offence as precise as possible. In our last game against them our defense was not on our usual high level, we must be as strong as ever defensively and take our first Euroleague home victory."

Meanwhile, Rytas coach Dirk Bauermann thinks that Lokomotiv will be more determined as they are out to seek vengeance for their VTB League loss in the hands of Rytas.

"We controlled Lokomotiv Kuban fastbreak attacks during our last game. We played our game and hit important shots. The match was very good for us," said Bauermann.

"Now I think they play with even more passion, because they want to have their revenge. We have to be ready for agressive Lokomotiv play."
