Brose Baskets Bamberg will be heading to the Palacio de Deportes to face Euroleague giants Real Madrid.

Real coach Pablo Laso is in no way belittling the German side as he knows its capabilities.

"We are facing the German champs. The German League is a competition that is growing a lot these last years and winning it means that you are doing things the right way," Laso told euroleague.net.

"Also, Brose Baskets is competing well in Europe and last year they were in the Top 16. It has a well-defined style and even if they get new players every year, they always follow the one idea of such a good coach as Fleming."

"I have always considered Brose Baskets a very dangerous team, an opponent that never leaves the game behind, very consistent. I think it's one of the most important rivals in our group."

"It's important to start well in the competition because as game goes by, all teams will keep growing. That's why this game is so important to us."

Madrind big man Marcus Slaughter echoes his coach's view that Brose Baskets is out to challenge bigger teams in the League.

"Brose Baskets is the team that better represents German basketball days. It is a big team that has been in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague for several seasons in a row now and they have won the German League the last four years," said Slaughter.

Meanwhile, Brose Baskets coach Chris Fleming is determined that his team could give Real a difficult game.

"We are looking forward to the challenge of playing Real Madrid. Obviously it is a very compact team, possibly the best team in Europe," said Fleming.

"They have a lot of continuity from last season and are playing at a good level right now. I think it is a really good challenge for us to have to focus and play a team like that. So we are pretty excited."
