European Football: Hottest Transfer Rumours at the Moment
There are several rumours which have started circulating around the European football market as the transfer season appears. Big names like Mario Balotelli and Stephan El Shaarawy are also involved in the rumoured transfers that are yet to be confirmed. Here are some of the most popular transfer rumours at the moment.
Mario Balotelli Signing for Chelsea
Earlier it was rumoured that Balotelli was moving to Liverpool. However, it is Chelsea that is apparently signing the Italian powerhouse, according to the Metro article by Jamie Sanderson. Jose Mourinho, the manager of Chelsea, advised Manchester City against signing Balotelli in 2010. Balotelli too expressed his disagreement with Mourinho at 'Football Focus' on BBC in 2012.
Stephan El Shaarawy Signing for Arsenal
Since Marouane Chamakh left for Crystal Palace, while Gervinho departed for Roma, Arsenal has become a bit weak in terms of having a quality striker. Stephan El Shaarawy happens to be similar with those left in Arsenal when it comes to having a weird hairdo. He is rumoured to join Arsene Wenger's team. Ben Curtis wrote in his Mirror Football article in June that even Chelsea and Liverpool may be interested in the 21-year-old.
Vincent Kompany Signing for Monaco
If Charles Perrin (The Express) is to be believed, Vincent Kompany is all set to sign for Monaco. However, it seems pretty unlikely for Manchester City to allow their captain to leave their captain as they are quite weak in defence with Kompany. Nevertheless, City is no stranger to making poor decisions in the past. Probably, that is why one cannot rule the rumour out.
Christian Benteke Signing for Tottenham Hotspur
Christian Benteke's alleged departure has been circulating in the transfer market for quite some time now. Alan Nixon reported in September on Mirror Football that the striker from Belgium might have interested Manchester United. Benteke requested for transfer in the summer.
Juan Mata Signing for Paris Saint-Germain
Juan Mata is rumoured to be joining Paris Saint-Germain that has not bought any new entries for the last couple of months. The team must have been restless to purchase a fresh player. The playmaker from Chelsea may replace Javier Pastore as the latter is also rumoured to be moving out after his disappointing stint at the Parc des Princes, according to the September report by The Independent.
