Evander Holyfield Does Humanitarian Work, Feeds the Homeless People, Serves Up Meals at a Soup Kitchen in Glasgow
Goodwill ambassador for Global Village Champions Foundation and Former Undisputed World Champion in both Heavyweight and Cruiserweight divisions, aka "The Real Deal," Evander Holyfield went to the streets of Glasgow, Scotland, to help Canadian philanthropist and billionaire Yank Barry in his humanitarian work.
Initially, Yank's charity work was with Muhammad Ali, and it all started back in the early 1990s. The two of them have fed over 9 million people all over the world, according to the Britain's Daily Record newspaper.
The mission is a drive to extend and share meals to one billion people around the world.
It was reported that $15,000 worth of food was utilised for the mission. It certainly has helped feed some of Glasgow's poorest people.
People have lined up themselves to receive the food and to have the chance of shaking the hand of one of the greatest boxers in our history. Some of the boxers that Holyfield has defeated include George Foreman, Riddick Bowe, Larry Holmes, John Ruiz, and, of course, Mike Tyson.
"It makes me feel good to be able to help all these people," Holyfield said in an interview by the same newspaper. "It is only right that I give something back now, I was helped out when I was a kid by charities and boys' clubs," he continued. "Now, I have the chance to follow Ali's footsteps, who is a great boxer and humanitarian himself, I am so pleased to be able to come meet the people of Glasgow and do my little part to extend help," he said.
Here's a photo that Holyfield tweeted on his account during the mission. He's definitely enjoying every minute of it. Well, we support Holyfield and his humanitarian work every step of the way. World hunger will unquestionably be knocked out in no time.
