‘An Evening With Oprah’ doesn't come cheap; tickets reportedly range from $264 to $2500
Media mogul and personal development guru Oprah Winfrey returns to Australia after five years, and while fans are eagerly anticipating her comeback, tickets to her show "An Evening With Oprah," won't come cheap. In fact, the cheapest seats, priced at AU$99, have already been snapped up just hours after the pre-sale event last week. As of this writing, the most affordable general admission seats available for the Oprah Australia tour cost AU$264. Regular selling of tickets started on Monday.
The last time the 61-year-old talk show host was in Australia was in 2010, when she brought 302 audience members for a one-week tour of the country for the "Ultimate Australian Adventure," according to a report from Sydney Morning Herald. The eight-day, seven-night trip to Australia was featured in four special episodes of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in 2011. Her upcoming tour, which happens in December 2015, will cover six venues across Australia and also New Zealand, where she will be appearing for the first time. "An Evening With Oprah" is made possible by Dainty Group and Iconic Entertainment.
"I can't wait to see everyone again in Australia. It is hard to believe that it has been five years since I was there, and I look forward to being reconnected, rejuvenated and re-inspired about what is possible for our lives." Winfrey said in a statement published on Dainty Group 's official website. She also added that she is very excited to visit New Zealand for the first time.
Ticket prices reportedly reach AU$2499 for the O' VIP Photo + Soundcheck Experience seats, which are located on the first ten rows. This package includes a 15-minute Q&A and a group photo with the Queen of Talk herself. There's also an AU$799 ultimate fan package ticket, which comes with a commemorative Oprah VIP gift set. The cost of the tickets could be well worth the price, though, because Oprah reportedly promises that the event will be "intimate."
Oprah's Australian and New Zealand tour kicks off on Dec. 2 at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne and wraps up on Dec. 16 at Vector Arena in Auckland. Venues in between cover the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Dec. 4, Perth Arena on Dec. 7, Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Dec. 10, and the Sydney Allphones Arena on Dec. 12.
