'Everybody Dance Now' has gone off air, and Aussies express disappointment on Twitter - although the news is not exactly shocking.

The Network Ten talent show has featured some amazing talents in its brief run, but the network admits it did not get the format right. The ratings did not fare well in its initial run, so Ten had changed its broadcast schedule from three nights a week to one. However, even this adjustment did not help. It was clear by the second episode, the show was going to struggle long and hard if it stayed on air.

The dance show was hosted by Sarah Murdoch. Two teams of dancers competed live in the show, with Jason Derulo and Kelly Rowland as mentors. Even with popular celebrity mentors, the show could not last longer than three episodes.

"As part of the renewal of Network Ten's creative content, we are trying new formats and creating more programming options. Unfortunately, we didn't get the Everybody Dance Now format right," Network Ten chief executive James Warburton said on Tuesday.
