Kris Humphries remains a mystery to many, because the NBA star was only put to spotlight when he started being linked to Kim Kardashian.

Before everyone is even up to their relationship update, here goes the basketball star buying the beautiful socialite an engagement ring worth $2 million. But who really is Kris?

Many were even surprised on how a not so popular NBA star can be able to afford the luxurious ring at all? Since for most researchers, this could have cost him already his salary for an entire year. Kris Humphries is a native of Minnesota whose parents are Debra and William Humphries. His father is an ex-football player and he has two sisters, Kaela and Krystal.

He first played for Utah Jazz in two years and later on was traded for the Toronto Raptors by 2006. Since he was not given a lot of opportunity to play hard with the team, he then was traded again for Dallas Mavericks in 2009. But he still transferred to the New Jersey team with which he still plays for at present.

As for now, Humphries still wants to make things work with his wife but if it's really over, some reports say that he wants the ring back.
